Management of stands in the post-fire regeneration phase

The main general indicator to be acted on: carbon and efficient water use

Forest management in the post-fire regeneration phase is essential to maximise the future productivity of a forest and make it better equipped to survive new fires and drought episodes. The stands that will be the main focus will be:

  • Dense groves of Aleppo pines (P. halepensis) in the Montmell LU.
  • Groves of Scots pines (P. sylvestris) in the Replans del Berguedà LU.
  • Stands with oak (Q. faginea) regeneration replacing black pines (P. nigra) in the Vall de Rialb LU.
  • Actions on post-fire cork oak groves in the Aspres LU.
